VCRs, film, and slide projectors are now obsolete.  We can transfer your family videotapes or old film reels to DVDs or USB flash drives for viewing or archiving.  We can edit or repair old tapes, even remove unwanted scenes if desired (additional fees may apply).

What makes East Coast Video different?

We do not ship your irreplaceable tapes or films out to a processing facility across the country like all the large retailers must do (Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Costco, etc).  Everything is processed right here in our studio office.  We have over 20 years experience handling and caring for our customers’ precious memories. They are safe with us!

We convert videotapes, film, photos, slides, audio tapes, all with special care. 

Videotape Transfers:  VHS or camcorder videotape transfers are priced based on length of the tapes.  We will transfer to DVDs or USB flash drives.  A completed DVD will include a customized, detailed description label and a DVD case.  A standard length DVD will hold up to 2 hours of high quality video while a USB flash drive will hold much more.  Finalized USB flash drives will have each individual tape labeled as a separate video file.

Prices:  A single videotape transfer to DVD, up to 2 hours in length, is $29.95.  If we can fit extra tapes on the same 2-hour DVD disc, extras tapes are $18 per tape (up to 2 hours total).  Additional DVD copies are $14.95 each.  Videotape transfers to a USB flash drive are $39.95 for the first tape of any length (which includes the flash drive) and $22 for each additional tape (up to 2 hours long) to the same flash drive.  Many videotapes can be easily transferred to a single USB drive.

Film Transfers:  When we transfer 8mm, Super 8, or 16mm films, we monitor the entire process as it happens.  If we need to correct the focus, film flicker, color, brightness, or repair a damaged film, it is all included.  Our customized editing process includes deletion of empty footage in the movies, background music carefully selected to compliment the activity on screen, an opening title segment, custom disc labeling, and every DVD is divided into chapters, allowing you to locate specific scenes more easily.  We use only professional grade discs.

Prices:  All reels are measured to determine the number of feet of films you have.  The first 200′ of 8mm or Super 8 film is $129, with all editing and background music included.  Each additional 50′ film reel or 50′ segment is $24  (small 3” reels hold 50′ of film). Price rates for transferring 16mm film are slightly higher.

 Slide and Photo Transfers:  Slides and photos will eventually deteriorate, discolor and fade.  We offer you the choice of capturing the individual photos as high-quality JPG image files or creating a “slide-show” video presentation ~ with background music, titles, and transitions between each photo.  All photo images are reviewed and corrected for excessive brightness, darkness, discoloration, or cropping if needed.  

Pricing is based on the number of images to be transferred to CD, DVD or flash drive.  

Slides: The first 36 slides (as Still Images only) are $99 to a CD, or $109 to a USB flash drive.  Each additional slide is $1.10.  To bring your slides to Life as a “Slide Show Video” with detailed editing and background music, the first 36 slides are $139 to a DVD, or $149 to USB flash drive. Additional slides are $1.50 each.  Custom music selections may be extra.

Photos: The first 25 photos (as Still Images only) are $125 to a CD, or $135 to a USB flash drive. Each additional photo is $1.35.  To bring photos to Life as a “Slide Show Video” with detailed editing and background music, the first 25 photos are $165 to a DVD, or $175 to a USB flash drive. Additional photos are $1.95 each.  Custom music selections may be extra.

Negatives:  If you have any old black & white or color negatives, we can preserve those as well and convert them to high quality photo images. 

Photo Colorization:  Advanced digital technology now allows us to “colorize” and even repair old photos that were previously plain black and white – bringing and incredibly realistic, updated look to photos that were dark and colorless before.

Audio Conversions:  Do you have any old recording you would like to hear again?  Our audio transfer services include Cassette Tapes, Reel to Reel Tapes, and Records including 45, 33 and 78 rpm.  We can convert old audio formats to CDs or USB flash drive files so they can be enjoyed again – or copied to your own computer for preserving or sharing.   Call us for specific pricing based on the audio formats.
